Winter Snow Storm

It is that time of year when we can’t avoid the snow – even though I want to avoid it! A little snow is okay. But these lake storms brings far too much snow. On Sunday it snowed from when I got up until bed time! Saturday was a mixed bag of freezing rain, rain, and snow! Luckily my appointment was early in the morning. It was freezing rain when I left the house. The roads were okay – mostly okay. But coming home just three hours later the ice and snow was starting to build up. Those are the days when you are glad that home is close. I must admit the snow is pretty to look at. It paints the landscape beautifully. If only it would stop!

My poor husband has to bundle up to deal with all the snow plus the cold temperatures! The farmers land is snowed covered making it easier to see the deer. When they are out. Our patio is snow covered wishing for warm weather with summer grilling parties!

I would like to give a shout out to our snow plow truck drivers! Always happy to see them driving down the road. They are just awesome. A 12-hour day driving at times in the worst weather possible. Whiteouts, slick roads, and of course dealing with crazy drivers! Without them salting the roads and plowing them, we would be in trouble! So thank you snow plow truck drivers!!

  1. Dang! Makes me think of my days on the farm in winter. Seeing the snow plows drive down our gravel road was always a relief. Hopefully you get some warm temps soon!

  2. Wow, what blast from the past you gave me πŸ₯°
Growing up & raising my kids on a farm/horse stables in Michigan, I know what you mean & the pics are close to same as our views were; surrounded by farmland…which made the snow more, especially the drifts that blew across the road…making my kids (a couple times) being the only ones told to stay home for snow day; the drifts blocked the road. When young it’s a blast; snowmobiles, horses, etc.. when older…not so much. πŸ₯ΆπŸ€§πŸ₯΄ Afraid I’ve become acclimated to Arizona weather now, so 50Β° is COLD!
Still…in those parts & the lakes are beautiful.

    1. It is pretty – especially the farmland. As long as I do not have to go anywhere. It is funny. As you said, snow is so much fun as a child.
But then as an adult when you have to drive and go to work in the snow. Not so much fun! The body adapts to the temperatures. Yesterday was 4 degrees. At first it is so darn cold. But then you get use to it. πŸ™‚ I would love 50 degrees to be cold for us! But that is not happening anytime soon.

  3. Snow actually paints the landscapes beautifully but it is too risky to drive on icy roads.. hope you stay warm and soon the snow melts ways with warm temps. in my part of world it is too too cold with temps. running in almost zeros.. again expecting snow later this week! Stay warm!

    1. Lol. That is not much for us. β˜ƒοΈβ˜ƒοΈβ˜ƒοΈ i will post what real snow looks like. Lol. But I can do without it. ❄️❄️❄️
