About Me

Food is a passion for me! I love exploring new ingredients to understand their flavor profile. Or deconstructing a dish to uncover the secret ingredients. Eating out becomes an adventure with trying a new dish or cocktail. There is nothing better than the inspiration gained from those adventures. Often you can find me busy in the kitchen trying new recipes or adding a twist to an existing recipe.

On Supper Plate you will find comfort foods, decadent desserts, cocktails, and healthy focused meals. My food philosophy balances healthy food while still enjoying cookies, pizza, and other fun foods! The key is awareness of serving size and frequency of those fun foods!

We understand the challenge of making a delicious meal when time is short. Meal planning is an important part of our lifestyle. Many of our recipes contains tips and shortcuts for either make ahead options or semi-homemade. Freezer meals are awesome. As an example you can make two Chicken Cordon Bleu Casseroles with Stuffing and bake one and freeze one. We take time to explore different ingredients since selecting the right ingredients is important. In our Cheesy Potato Soup with Bacon we discuss how to select the right potato and cheese! We are introducing one-pot dishes to reduce the cleanup and 30 minute dishes.

We are staring a new section called “Cooking Lessons”. This is where I share deeper information on an ingredient or cooking process. Our first post provides detailed instruction for making Pumpkin Puree. Future plans includes homemade vanilla, cooking with Guinness, and much more!
